Anchor Alarm
Traditionally, when the anchor alarm is set it will alert you if the anchor drags or the boat moves out of the Geofence that has been set up. However, when you’re not on board – such as when you are having a meal on land or if the alarm is set via an app linked to your phone and you are on shore – this alarm cannot be heard. In Air Yacht, we make use of a new system that alerts you wherever you have cellphone signal as to the status of the boat. If the anchor drags, you will be alerted and can then access your camera to check the status.
Windlass, Anchor & Chain
It’s vital to have the finest equipment to hold the yacht in many changeable conditions, which is why we have selected a Maxwell hydraulic windlass, found on superyachts worldwide. The hydraulic version supplies plenty of power to lift large anchors and chain under load.
The remote control at the windlass and at the helm gives a read-out of the amount of chain deployed, and a depth gauge at the windlass provides the depth of the seabed. With all required information on hand, communication between crew on the foredeck and captain on the helm is effortless. It’s no longer necessary to shout back and forth for directions
The 80kg stainless-steel Ultra anchor has 110 metres of German stainless duplex and electro-polished chain, which ensures the chain slides over itself and helps to prevent pyramiding. The stainless chain prevents degradation of the chain and anchor, and alleviates mess in the anchor locker.
An automatic wash-down facility is built into the bow roller in the longeron to clean the chain of any detritus before the chain enters the longeron and chain locker. A camera is installed in the longeron to enable the skipper see the status of the anchor when the anchor is being dropped or raised.
As an option, dock pistons can be supplied that are dedicated mooring dampening units, which remove the noise and the sudden jerks that can be caused by swell or reflected waves from docks.
The bridle has an innovative built-in heavy-duty rubber shock absorber set into premium abrasion-resistant rope with excellent stretch characteristics. The bridle is easily removable when making passage.
