Cockpit

The spacious 40m² cockpit is an elegant outdoor living space that has been ergonomically designed to celebrate the yachting lifestyle. A double daybed plus two single sunloungers on each side of the space are complemented by aft seating for four. A feature of this seating is the adjustable backrest that allows you to face aft or forward, depending on the view and angle of the sun. The craftsman-finished teak or walnut dining table seats eight and extends to accommodate ten for alfresco meals.

Teak flooring is soft underfoot, and direct sun can be screened with a transparent shadecloth side that minimises heat but allows for airflow, light and views. The beautiful staircase leading from the cockpit up to the flybridge features LED-illuminated teak treads inset into the carbon-fiber and titanium staircase.

Practicalities have been seamlessly incorporated into the design. A 12” Nemesis B&G screen showing relevant sail/weather information keeps the skipper updated while eating and relaxing, whether on passage or at anchor. Well-considered lighting includes floor courtesy lights, underway running lights, and one-touch mood lighting to set the scene. The Fusion Marine sound system is state-of-the-art. A drinks fridge, dedicated shoe locker, ancillary lockers, drink holders, exterior USB and electrical charging points, and hidden cleats in the cockpit roof enhance the easy lifestyle aboard the Air Yacht 80. The wet locker for foul wet-weather gear is in just the right place – outside the main entrance door to the saloon.

The aft deck has been carefully considered to offer a practical work space that stretches between hulls without interrupting the cockpit living space. A wide walkway allows effortless access to the tender, with wide staircases leading down to the sugar scoops. The passerelle is built into the aft stairs, which are lit with LED footlights.

Tender

Easily accessible via the wide aft passageway, the light 4.6-metre aluminium ribbed tender that seats nine people is powered by a 70hp four-stroke outboard motor. The 40-litre petrol tank is built in, and custom-fitted chaps protect the Hyperlon hulls. The chart plotter with inbuilt AIS allows the location of the tender to be tracked from the yacht, and the depth finder and navigation lights are standard safety features. A ski pole makes for added fun for Air Yacht passengers.

Swim Platforms

Wide staircases off both hulls lead down to two generous aft swim platforms that give easy access to the water. An additional floating beach-club platform easily clips on to extend this water-level relaxation and play zone, which can be lit at night with LED lights. Rinse off afterwards under the hot and cold freshwater shower. The tender can be connected to retractable cleats, and an easy-access emergency ladder is built into the hull.

Sundeck

The beautiful teak-floored sundeck is a spacious 11m² set into the bridge deck so as not to affect the view from the saloon. Sunbathe on the daybed for two, with the option of using the sun awning in the heat of the day, or relax on the 7-metre-long (44m²) trampoline and watch for dolphins. When it’s time for sundowners, this serene area has seating for eight, with a removable cocktail table.

The sundeck is a streamlined, uncluttered space with no mooring chains and built-in hydraulic headsail furlers. Electrically operated front windows open into the saloon, making it easy to pass drinks through or chat to people inside. The superb Fusion Marine sound-system speakers can be operated independently.

When not in use, cushions stow away in convenient storage lockers, which are separate from the large fender storage lockers. This area also provides external access to Air Yacht’s interior tech room via two waterproof doors.

Toy/Tool Room

The very large tool room/toy storage area in the starboard forward hull is over 5 metres long. The locker door is large enough to receive a fully inflated stand-up paddleboard (SUP), so there’s no need to deflate the SUP when underway or clutter the decks. A built-in tool bench and vice, and dedicated spaces for tools and spares and in which to work are a practical luxury. A baby davit to connect and lift heavy equipment is optional.

This room can also house a small inflatable dinghy and electric engine to use in the protected areas or for a beach party in places that would be difficult to access in the main tender. A spare rudder, fishing rods and spares are stored here, and there are dedicated spaces for a dive compressor, dive tanks and wet dive gear. This room is fitted with 230V and 12V power points to charge the electric outboard motor and to power the tools.

The Toy/Tool Room is 7.5m²

Sail Locker

The 3.5m² port forward locker provides ample space for storing sails. The locker doors are large enough to allow for easy access with bulky sails. It is fitted with hammocks for storing and drying sails, as well as rails where you can hang spare lines and ropes; elastic preventers stop swing.

Fly Bridge Helm

The raised and covered helm deck offers an excellent vantage point for navigating. This ergonomically designed fly bridge includes a fully fitted entertainment area – just the spot for relaxing with sundowner cocktails in the evening.

The Air Yacht is perfected for push-button sailing, and all lines lead to the expansive helm station with its beautiful handmade helm wheel, four large electric winches, and jammers. The bespoke helm seat is adjustable from a bench to a chaise longue for more comfort while on duty. The carbon-fiber bimini is topped with solar panels. It has three large windows through which to view the sails, and a built-in gutter system to divert rainwater and allow good visibility. A permanent dodger with built-in steps provides access to the mast area.

Barbecue Area

The entertainment area includes a daybed for two and seating for six with built-in backrests around a folding table for evening meals or sundowners. This seating converts into a relaxed sun-bed area where six people can lie in comfort. The Fusion Marine sound system in this zone can be independently controlled, and complementary one-touch mood lighting can set the ambience. A barbecue area – with an electric barbecue, a sink and a prep area, plus a drinks fridge and plentiful storage – makes for effortless entertaining. Teak floors with attractive grey caulking and premium marine upholstery fabrics underscore the luxe layering that comprises the Air Yacht experience.
